United States President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union speech began with the crisis in Ukraine and went on to address the US economy and his domestic agenda. Biden announced closing US airspace to Russian aircraft but would not send US forces into Ukraine to confront the Russian military. Gold price dropped to below US$1,940, however, Investors have poured billions of dollars into gold funds this year. Oil prices soar to the highest level since 2008 over Russia supply fears, raw materials costs from oil to wheat are on track to post biggest weekly rise since at least 1970.
